We are delighted to announce that Dante Micheaux will be joining us as our 25th Anniversary Curator & Artistic Advisor!

Dante Micheaux is the author of Amorous Shepherd and Circus, which won the Four Quartets Prize from the Poetry Society of America and the T. S. Eliot Foundation. His poems and translations have appeared in African American Review; The American Poetry Review; Callaloo; Literary Imagination; Poem-ADay; Poetry; PN Review; and Tongue—among other journals and anthologies. Micheaux’s other honors include the 2020 Ambit Magazine Poetry Prize, and fellowships from Cave Canem Foundation and The New York Times Foundation.

In his own words: “It is my privilege to have been active in the Cave Canem community for 17 of its 25 years, as a fellow, staff member and advocate. To reaffirm my commitment in this celebratory year is an honor—a return to work that is second nature and about which I am most passionate. The endeavor is to offer the public and fellowship programs that reflect our Founder’s vision and demonstrate how that vision continues to flourish in the 21st century.”
