Community of Writers at Squaw Valley

The Community of Writers at Squaw Valley in Olympic Valley, CA has generously offered to provide tuition and room-and-board scholarships, valued at $1,650 each, to three Cave Canem fellows who wish to attend the Poetry Workshop June 22 – 29, 2019, and are in need of financial aid. The award includes $1,150 of the $1,250 Poetry Workshop Tuition, plus $500 to be put toward accommodation costs or travel. This year’s faculty are Forrest Gander, Brenda Hillman, David Tomas Martinez, Jane Miller, Sharon Olds, Gregory Pardlo and Robert Hass. Details on how to apply for the scholarships may be found here (PDF). The application fee is $35. Fellows offered a scholarship must submit a $100 deposit, which will be refunded upon arrival.

The deadline to apply is March 27, 2019.

Within one month of completing the residency, selected participants are required to submit a one-page evaluative report to Cave Canem.
