Cave Canem Community Relief Fund
The Cave Canem Community Relief Fund offers one-time emergency grants of $500 to fellows, faculty, and alumni who are experiencing financial hardship. Grantees from 2020 may apply again in 2021, with preference given to first-time applicants. Two applications will be selected via lottery each month until the fund is depleted. Fellowship community members may apply through Submittable on an ongoing basis. Individuals who wish to donate to the fund may do so here.
- Complete, sign, and date a W9 form.
- Complete the online Submittable form, including 1-3 sentences on what the emergency grant will be used for. (This information will be incorporated as data as Cave Canem makes long-term goals for how to best serve our fellowship and Black poets more broadly.)
- Each month two applications are chosen by lottery to receive an emergency grant. Grants are automatically disbursed via Zelle or Paypal. The names of applicants will not be published and all submitted information will be kept confidential.
