Biography

Elizabeth Maria Fields is a Cave Canem poetry fellow and has been published in several print and on line publications including Wicked Alice, the Cave Canem Anthology XII, the Georgia Anthology: Stone, River, Sky, and Pluck! The Journal of Affrilachian Arts & Culture. She earned her BA and MFA from the University of Georgia and served as an English lecture at several Universities and Colleges for close to a decade. She is now an incoming MSW winter 2021 candidate at Florida State University and her creative interdisciplinary work has long focused on bridging the gap between academia and the community. She is passionate about social justice causes such as women’s empowerment, mental health, recovery, domestic abuse/violence awareness, and holistic food justice. She is currently on the Board at Rustic Roots Sanctuary, a permaculture community farm in St. Louis, and is working with Central Square Press to release her debut collection of poetry.
